March 24, 2003: IMPORTANT: Beta version 1.571 of Checkout expires on March 31, 2003, and will no longer run after that date. If you are currently running version 1.571, you will be required to download version 1.572 (below) if you wish to continue using the beta version of Checkout. Beta version 1.572 (available via link, below) has had the expiration date removed, and will function indefinitely (it will never time-out). At some point v2.0 will be complete, and until it is ready, version 1.572 will remain functional. There is no time out in version 1.572. Simply download checkout1572exe.zip program via the following link. Inside checkout1572exe.zip is checkout.exe. Simply copy this new checkout.exe over your existing copies of checkout.exe, and the run the program normally. Version 1.572: checkout1572exe.zip Checkout is Freeware, and tends to get put on the back burner when things get busy. It has been busy lately and GreatShareware apologizes for the delay. Beta 1.572 contains the following new features (same as version 1.57): Fully compatible - simply copy over the older checkout.exe. Handy printable name/phone lists, (in color on a color printer)! Quick-In and Quick-Out: CheckOut knows who you are. Faster check in and check out. Choose your font! Display CheckOut in the font style, color and size you like. Optional scrolling status bar display: Always see your status, regardless of window or list column size or visibility. Additional right-click menu options. Most common functions now available via right-click menu. As mentioned above, this and future beta's are fully compatible with the CheckOut you already use. You really have nothing to lose in trying it, except if you do not wish to work with the outdated online help. You can return to the previous version by simply restoring the previous release copy of checkout.exe. If you don't have it, simply return here and re-download it (below). Even after the next release version is released, the previous release version will continue to be available here.
